When a former soldier unexpectedly awakens the ancestral powers of the Kharakternyky hidden within his bloodline, he discovers his ability to travel through time and embarks on a dangerous quest to recover lost relics and uncover the forgotten Trypillian Code before it is erased forever.
He picks up allies along the way — Molfar warrior-sorceresses, a Crimean Tatar warrior, creatures out of half-forgotten stories — and ends up fighting both human and supernatural forces for his homeland's future.
